Spotify brings a bunch of new features to its Premium service

The company today announced a major upgrade for Spotify Premium that will now offer improved personalization on iOS and Android.

One of the two driving forces behind the staggering growth of the U.S. music streaming industry over the past few years seems to be progressing at a much slower pace than the other market leader, but that also means it's going the extra mile to attract new subscribers. Similar in concept to the exploration feature that helped popularize Pandora, Endless Artist Radio allows a subscriber to build a playlist based on a specific musician or song.

All of this is rolling out to Spotify Premium users for Android and iOS starting today, so keep an eye out for it! This is a system in which users are able to find their favorite artist and tap in on Artist Radio playlists. Spotify has completely revamped the search experience to be more personalized than ever before. The infinite playlists can also be downloadeded for offline listening on your device.

The remaining tabs (Home, Search and Library) still play the same roles they previously did, but the Browse and Radio tabs have been integrated in various ways within them.

There's a new search system in the mix in this month's update. "Our redesigned Search page is the new one-stop destination for artists, albums, podcasts, and more-whether the subscriber knows what they're searching for or wants to explore something new", said a Spotify representative.

With the updated search Spotify will start showing you Top Genres in an ever-changing page that is probably more about discovery than anything.
