The picture also features Donald Glover (AKA Childish Gambino) who will take the lead voicing Simba, director Jon Favreau and Billy Eichner, who is the new Timon.

The group is clearly hard at work on the highly-anticipated remake, where Glover is set to star as Simba, Rogen will take on the role of Pumbaa and Eichner will voice Timon. Seth Rogen wasn't too forthcoming with details on the film, simply captioning the Instagram post with a lion and crown emoji. But given that it's the three guys here and they're in the studio, does it perhaps mean that a new version of "Hakuna Matata" has been recorded?

Despite Bey's absence from the recording session, we do know that Glover, at least, has worked with her, which he understandably described as a "little intimidating". "Don't worry, '" Glover said.

"They're like, 'So here are the lyrics, ' and I'm like, 'I know the lyrics!" "I was freaking out", he said. The first behind-the-scenes image of some of the movie's core cast members was recently revealed by director Jon Favreau. Now he's excited to retell another beloved animated film.

Hey whatever you're doing right now probably isn't almost as cool as this, the first glimpse of the cast of The Lion King hanging out. But not everyone in the kingdom celebrates the new cub's arrival. "With help from a curious pair of newfound friends, Simba will have to figure out how to grow up and take back what is rightfully his". "Utilizing pioneering filmmaking techniques to bring treasured characters to life in a whole new way, "The Lion King" roars into theaters on July 19, 2019".
