Pakistan's Azhar Ali lost his wicket in one of the most freaky run outs in cricket history on day 3 of the second Test match between Pakistan and Australia.

Azhar Ali was run out in a freaky fashion against Australia.

Azhar hit Peter Siddle's delivery towards the boundary and assumed it as a four.

By the end of the day, Azhar could see the amusing side of what happened when he and non-striker Asad Shafiq were stranded mid-pitch as Australian captain Tim Paine whipped off the bails, with the batsmen having erroneously thought Azhar had registered a boundary when he edged Peter Siddle to third man.

While Ali and Asad Shafiq were chatting mid-pitch, the ball stopped just short of the rope. Ali did not even bother trying to run back and just looked at the bails been taken off with a perplexed look. The left-arm seamer quickly threw the ball towards wicketkeeper Tim Paine, who took down the stumps to dismiss Ali.
