The app will then show you a list of some charging stations that are close to your current location. If you're located in the USA, you'll be able to find SemaConnect, EVgo, and Blink stations; for Uk drivers, you can find Chargemaster and Pod Point stations; and finally for anyone residing in Australia or New Zealand, you'll be able to locate any and all Chargefox stations. The listings might mention businesses where the station is located, which types of ports and charging speeds are available, and how many ports there are. The US's SemaConnect, EVgo, and Blink are supported, while the UK's Chargemaster and Pod Point will be available for overseas users.

As well as the usual photos, ratings, reviews and questions/answers you normally see in Google Maps entries, you'll also see information about the business where the charging station is located, the types of ports available, charging speeds, and how many ports there are. That's why, going forward, Google Maps will display electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, which should come in handy when planning longer trips that extend well beyond your EV's autonomy. In Australia and New Zealand there is additional location info from Chargefox.

The new functionality will show Tesla and Chargepoint stations around the world; SemaConnect, EVgo, and Blink chargers in the US; Chargemaster and Pod Point stations in the United Kingdom; and Chargefox in Australia and New Zealand.

The feature is rolling out both iOS and Android apps starting today, with desktop support launching "in the coming weeks".

Google on Tuesday unveiled a brand new Google Maps feature that should improve your overall navigation experience, but only if you operate the kind of vehicle.
