The potential 2020 Democratic presidential candidate told CBS "This Morning" Thursday he's concerned Trump "seems to have a love affair with autocrats" and "coddles" dictators, including North Korea's Kim Jong Un, Russia's Vladimir Putin and the Saudi ruling family.

Former Vice President Joe Biden made a surprising statement about the possibility of Democrats impeaching President Donald Trump if they regained control of Congress in the midterms.

"I hope they don't", he replied.

Asked by co-host Norah O'Donnell to explain Trump's behavior, Biden said: "I don't want to speculate on my worst fears". I've been around a long time. You don't put an arbitrary end to it. "It's a legitimate question, and so I think age is relevant". "And let's see what it had to say". "I don't think there's a basis for doing that right now".

"And if Democrats win the House, do you believe that they may move forward with articles of impeachment?" she asked. "The idea that he's already making excuses before the facts are known ... it's typical but it hurts us internationally".

Biden said that his doubts about Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman have "been confirmed". Trump, who is now 72, became the oldest president sworn into office, though Ronald Reagan, who was almost 74 at the time of his reelection, remains the oldest president elected in USA history.

As the crisis over Khashoggi's disappearance has deepened, Trump has emphasized positive aspects of the USA relationship with Saudi Arabia and rebuffed calls to respond by cutting off arms sales to the kingdom.
