The Hilton Heads flights are now on sale.

The new flights between Lexington and Washington Dulles will be flown on a 50-seat aircraft and are available for immediate booking immediately through United's website. "We're also expanding service to key business destinations, including Detroit, St. Louis, Omaha, Richmond, and Kansas City, Missouri", said Jill Kaplan, United's president of New York/New Jersey. Later that morning, Flight SQ21 would make the first non-stop return flight back to Singapore in half a decade.

Singapore Airlines relaunched its non-stop flights to NY on Thursday, a service that at 16,700-kilometres and close to 19 hours, has enabled the carrier to reclaim the title of longest commercial flight in the world. Beginning June 6, 2019, United will begin nonstop service between San Francisco and Columbus, Ohio.

The Chicago-based carrier will also increase its Newark-Anchorage (Alaska) service to from weekly to daily, add new nonstop service to Pensacola (Florida) and introduce nonstop service between Hilton Head (South Carolina) and Chicago (Illinois), Dulles and Newark. "We are delighted to see United expand its service from Lexington".

Flight SQ22 marked the first nonstop flight between the Lion City and the Big Apple since 2013, when Singapore Airlines pulled the plug on the service.
