A host of WWE legends, including Batista, Rey Mysterio and The Undertaker, all returned to for the thousandth edition of WWE's second show Smackdown.

SmackDown launched with a pilot episode on April 29th, 1999, before eventually debuting as a series on August 26th later that year. The Guardians of the Galaxy star took part in a segment that saw the reunion of the wrestling stable Evolution, consisting of Bautista, Triple H, Ric Flair and Randy Orton.

Batista is rumoured to be signed on for a longer run, and teased a confrontation with Triple H. The two got into a heated tussle after the former WWE Champion suggested Lynch to mend her ways or she will be left alone.

Big Show, who returned last week, too made an impact as he helped The Bar, Seamus and Cesaro, to defeat The New Day for the WWE SmackDown Tag-team titles. Qualifying matches for the WWE World Cup continue with the return of Rey Mysterio, who will face Shinsuke Nakamura for the right to enter the tournament to determine who is the best in the world at WWE Crown Jewel.

It looks like another big name could be making his return to WWE TV at the show.
