Impact Wrestling Bound For Glory Recap: The Good Face of Impact

The match between Impact and Aries was stiff and was wrestled in a way to look like they were not cooperating for each other but the match settled into a traditional wrestling match.

Granted, you had to put up with Josh Matthews and some extremely embarrassing product placement for the show's sponsor, but it was more worth it than not.

On the surface, this all looks like work, especially because, during the match, Callis made comparisons to the Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels issues in 1997.

Bryan Alvarez notes in the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Live that Aries has, "gone home", and will not be attending the Impact Wrestling TV tapings today, or tomorrow.

It remains to be seen whether or not Austin Aries' actions at the end of the PPV were part of the script or not, as the entire feud between Aries and Impact, leading up to Bound For Glory, has towed the line between fiction and reality. "So you can make of that what you will", Alvarez said. That fired Johnny Impact up and he soon gained control of the sly Aries and set Aries up for a brainbuster and capped the night of with his signature "Starship Pain" finishing maneuver to defeat Austin Aries and capture the IMPACT World Championship. Johnny is the new world champion.

Tonight's Bound for Glory pay-per-view ended in what may end up being one of the most talked-about incidents of 2018 - that is, if the whole thing isn't some sort of elaborate story being told by Impact Wrestling.
