Honor 8X With Display Notch, Dual Cameras Launched in India

Honor 8X has been rolling out to markets all over the globe with numerous launch events. It will be available in Red, Black and Blue color options in India. Honor has constructed the device out of glass and the phone houses a metal frame; It has a double textured back something which we saw on the Lenovo Vibe S1 back in 2015. While the earlier launched Honor X devices came with a metal unibody design, the new Honor 8X sports glass back body with the lovely looking two-tone finish.

The Honor 8X has a Kirin 710 chipset, built on the 12 nm process.

Coming to the pricing, the Honor 8X with 4GB RAM is priced very aggressively at Rs 14,999. The smartphone will be an Amazon India exclusive and will go on sale in the country starting October 24th.

The fingerprint sensor is also situated at the rear end of the Honor 8X. Honor claims the smartphone is the world's first TUV Rheinland-certified smartphone to protect the eyes from glare, and comes with an Eye Comfort Mode that reduces the blue light by over 200 percent to prevent eye fatigue. It sports a 6.5-inch full-HD+ (1080x2340 pixels) display panel with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and pixel density of 397ppi. It comes with AI Sport Shots for moving photos, AI Super Super-Slow motion modes, and multi-scene recognition as well. The phone is shipped with the octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 710 SoC (4 x 2.2GHz + 4 x 1.7GHz) coupled with up to 6GB of RAM.

On the software side, the Honor 8X boots Android Oreo-based EMUI 8.2 out of the box.

One of the notable AI-powered features is the ability to scan a product using the camera, and it automatically searches it online for the user to purchase. Internal storage options include 64GB and 128GB, plus storage on the phone is expandable via microSD card (up to 400GB).

The main camera setup has a 20 MP primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture and a secondary 2 MP lens for artificial background blur. On the front, the Honor 8X sports a 16-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture and fixed focus.

It is backed by a 3,750mAh non-removable battery that also supports up to 5V/2A (10W) power input.

Connectivity options on the handset include Dual 4G, VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, Global Positioning System and a Micro USB port. The device measures 160.4 × 76.6 × 7.8 mm and weighs 175 grams.
