Matthew McConaughey will be headlining Guy Ritchie's return to the crime caper in the aptly-named Toff Guys. The cast list also includes Kate Beckinsale and "Crazy Rich Asians" actor Henry Goldingare.

In a surprise bit of news, Miramax CEO, Bill Block, announced that Academy-Award victor Matthew McConaughey has signed on for Guy Ritchie's next film, Toff Guys, alongside Henry Golding and Kate Beckinsale. The filmmaker wrote the script for Toff Guys with Marn Davies and Ivan Atkinson.

"McConaughey as the inside outsider with Henry and Kate will make for a thrilling Guy Ritchie ride", said Miramax CEO Bill Block.

Ritchie most recently finished shooting Aladdin, the live-action remake of the Disney animated classic that stars Will Smith as the Genie, Mena Massoud as Aladdin, Naomi Scott as Princess Jasmine and Marwan Kenzari as Jafar.

The plot explores the crossover between European "old money" and the present-day marijuana industry, depicting a British drug kingpin in his efforts to sell off his profitable empire to a family of Oklahoma billionaires. Ritchie's signature visual cocktail will be served with an abundance of fun.

As the one American in the cast of a film that will follow "old money European wealth" and probably be set in the United Kingdom, I have to wonder if McConaughey will put on a British accent.

Variety had the Toff Guys casting details first.

Crazy Rich Asians is now the highest-grossing rom-com of the 2010s having raked in more than US$170 million (RM706.4 million) since its release in August but Golding won't be stopping to rest anytime soon.
