Genius, the massive online database of lyrics and insights, is teaming up with Apple Music to play any song in full right from the song page, simply by signing into your Apple Music account.

"Being able to read lyrics and annotations on Genius while you listen along on Apple Music is a dream Genius experience", Ben Gross, Genius's Chief Strategy Officer said in the official press release. But now it's available for Apple Music subscribers. With mostly identical music libraries, both Spotify and Apple Music chase ways to differentiate themselves from one another; annotated lyrics from Genius are Apple's latest move.

Genius has also integrated its extensive database of lyrics with Apple Music, eliminating the need to leave the app to search for exactly what your favorite artist is saying.

"Being able to read lyrics and annotations on Genius while you listen along on Apple Music is a dream Genius experience", stated Ben Gross, Genius's Chief Strategy Officer.

Apple Music's web player went live on the desktop version of Genius.com Thursday; the player is also available to users who access the site with their iPhone's Safari browser or via the Genius iOS app. With this new development, it looks like Spotify may need to think about being adopted by a similar service so it can keep up.
