Others in consideration include Def Leppard, Devo, John Prine, Kraftwerk, LL Cool J, MC5, Radiohead, Rage Against the Machine, Roxy Music, Stevie Nicks, The Cure, Todd Rundgren, Rufus feat.

Despite its name, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has been accepting nominees from all genres, regardless of their connection to rock'n'roll. For some, their long-term goal is to make it into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

LL Cool J was nominated for a fifth time; if selected, he would become the seventh hip-hop act to be inducted. The same is true for Def Leppard, Devo, Prine, Roxy Music and Rundgren.

To be eligible, of course, the nominees' first single or album must have been released before (and including) 1993.

A voting pool of more than 1,000 artists, historians, journalists and members of the music industry will select the new class, and fans can vote at RockHall.com or by visiting the museum in Cleveland and making a selection at an interactive kiosk. They will then be tallied as a "fan's ballot" and will be factored in with the other ballots to decide the 2019 class. For some, the pinnacle of the list contains musings such as one day winning a Grammy award.

The winners will be announced in December, with the induction ceremony taking place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, on March 29, 2019. Ticket on-sale information will be announced in January.
