Making A Murderer Part 2 debuts October 19 on Netlix. The U.S. Supreme Court declined to hear arguments to overturn the Appeals Court ruling reinstating Dassey's conviction.

Ricciardi and Demos follow Zellner, who has righted more wrongful convictions than any private attorney in America, as she tirelessly works the case and uncovers unexpected evidence about what may have happened to Teresa Halbach and about how and why the jury convicted Steven Avery of her murder.

Season 2, which consists of 10 new episodes, finds filmmakers Laura Ricciardi and Moira Demos returning to the midwest for exclusive interviews with Avery, Dassey, their families and the legal teams fighting on their behalf.

In late 2015, Netflix released Making a Murderer, an incredibly popular true crime documentary which explores the possibility that two men in Wisconsin were wrongly convicted of murder and sent to prison for a crime they did not, in fact, commit.

Dassey, who was almost released in 2017 after two courts overturned his conviction only for a third to uphold it, confessed to his and Avery's 2005 killing of Theresa Halbach, though his defense attorneys argued that the admittance was coerced by police. Avery and Dassey are serving life sentences in that killing.
