Miami faced a 1st and 10 on the 48-yard-line while trailing 17-14. Tannehill handed off to Frank Gore, who tossed the ball to Wilson on an end-around.

Wilson darted to the right flank and lofted a pass to a wide-open Grant. Wilson - a quarterback in high school - then lobbed the first pass of his National Football League career to a wide-open Grant, who outmanoeuvred two Raiders to the end zone.

"Just NASCAR on grass", Grant said. "I knew that was going to be a touchdown and all he told me is 'make sure you score".

"Now he owes me $100 for scoring".

Derek Carr took a chance and it didn't work out the way the Oakland Raiders wanted. Wilson added an exclamation point on the resulting drive, burning defenders down the left flank for a 74-yard touchdown.

Following Howard's second interception, Wilson scooted around the end after taking Tannehill's short pitch and scored the clincher as he high-fived Grant.

The Raiders' Jordy Nelson had 139 yards receiving in the first seven minutes, and finished with 173 on six catches.

Trickery gave the Dolphins their first lead in the fourth quarter. The Raiders responded with a long drive, ending in a field goal and a 10-7 lead.

Marshawn Lynch and Doug Martin were effective running the ball, combining for 107 yards. The Dolphins scored on a pair of shovel passes by Ryan Tannehill that each traveled less than a yard - one on the flip to Wilson, and an earlier similar pass that Jakeem Grant caught before turning the corner for an 18-yard score. This permitted head coach Adam Gase to lull the Raiders defense into a vulnerable position to be gashed for points.

"We have a lot of work to do here". "We keep drawing them". "They can throw it, they can run it". They can run it. "But the patterns we're establishing are going to take us there".

He also said the Dolphins have "a lot" more trick plays in the playbook.

"We made some big plays when it mattered", Tannehill said. "Good timing. I thought those guys had pretty good execution of the play".

Tannehill went 17 for 23 for 289 yards and three scores with no turnovers. Wilson also turned a short pass into a 74-yard jaunt that put the final nail in the coffin. Stills logged 61 yards and a score on three receptions. Expect Lynch and the boys up front to be ready to roll, as the Raiders look to win their first game of the 2018 regular season inside Hard Rock Stadium.

"We have plays that are built in, with certain stuff". "We've known the talent [Wilson and Grant] had since the spring". "I just saw one-on-one with Martavis (Bryant)".
