And the duchess only saw her completed veil - embroidered with flowers from each of the 53 Commonwealth nations - on the day she married, having trusted designer Clare Waight Keller.

She made the comments while discussing the dress in a documentary about Queen Elizabeth II called "Queen of the World".

"Somewhere in here there's a piece of blue fabric that's stitched inside - it was my something blue", Meghan remarks, picking up the veil in the footage. Did you see it?

"It's fabric from the dress that I wore on our first date", she added.

In a sneak peak of "Queen of the World", Meghan is seen reunited with her bridal outfit for the first time since she Wednesday Prince Harry ahead of it being displayed in an exhibition in October.

A conservator from the Royal Collection replies: "That's about the most romantic thing I've ever heard". In the programme "Queen of the World", screened this Tuesday, the Duchess of Sussex lets us all on in her secret.

It was filmed over more than a year and features behind-the-scenes moments with The Queen, her family, staff and residences.

Meghan Is Excited About Her and Harry's Royal Tour: In September, Kensington Palace announced that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will in mid-October embark on their first joint royal tour, visiting Commonwealth countries Australia, Fiji, the Kingdom of Tonga and New Zealand.

The fragment of fabric wasn't visible to the millions watching the wedding on May 19 2018 or even to the friends and family celebrating with the couple at their ceremony at St. George's Chapel, Windsor and then at their reception in the Great Hall of Windsor Castle afterwards.

"Which is why it was so important to have some sort of example of that present with us on the (wedding) day, 53 countries as well, my goodness, It'll keep us busy".
