Garoppolo suffered what looks like a season-ending ACL injury when he chose to go for contact rather than run out of bounds on a QB scramble late in the fourth quarter Sunday afternoon. Jimmy Garoppolo's season is over.

An MRI revealed Niners quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo suffered a torn ACL Sunday and will miss the rest of the 2018 season, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Monday, citing a source. On a run around the edge, his knee bent the wrong way before taking a huge hit.

During his weekly appearance on WEEI's "Kirk & Callahan Show" Monday, Tom Brady was asked for his thoughts on Garoppolo's knee injury.

Garoppolo was reportedly visibly upset on his way to the 49ers locker room, and was seen hopping on one leg down the hallway after being evaluated.

"It's a tough injury". He said he feels "terrible" for his former backup. Things happen like that. I've been through an ACL. "It just sucks to have to go through that".

Of course, Brady suffered a torn ACL himself in 2008.
