Max Domi, who was the return from Arizona in the Alex Galchenyuk deal earlier this summer, showed his quick hands in the Habs' preseason contest against the Panthers on Wednesday, though likely not in the way the team was hoping for in literally the most meaningless game of the 2018-19 campaign.

That's when Domi dropped his right glove and sucker punched him in the nose.

Following the game, Panthers head coach Bob Boughner told reporters that Ekblad was removed from the game by the league to determine if he'd suffered a concussion.

Ekblad went down hard and was bloodied up pretty good.

With the Canadiens losing 2-1 at the start of the third period, Domi began tugging on Ekblad's shirt, asking him to fight.

It's not the first time Domi has done something like this, although under different circumstances.

The NHL announced Domi's discipline Thursday after a hearing on Wednesday's incident.

14 - Number of penalty minutes racked up by Tie's son, Max, in his first preseason tilt, picking up a two-minute roughing minor, a five-minute major, and a match penalty in the third period against the Panthers.

How can you say you are looking out for the best interest of the players and then do nothing when someone not looking for a confrontation gets dropped with an unsuspecting punch?

16 - Number of veterans in the Panthers lineup on Wednesday who played at one National Hockey League regular-season game last season, including Roberto Luongo, who got the start between the pipes for the Cats, and newly-named Panthers captain Aleksander Barkov.
