Rockstar Games announced Red Dead Online, a new online connected experience that uses the gameplay of Red Dead Redemption 2 as a foundation for players to explore its vast open world online.

Red Dead Online's public beta will launch in November 2018.

"There are a few reasons for this", Sarwar says.

Rockstar continues to slowly reveal more information about Red Dead Redemption 2 ahead of its launch next month and today, they've opted to finally talk about some of the first details on the game's multiplayer.

For those concerned about the synergy between Rockstar's other hit online title "GTA Online" and "Red Dead Online", the team made it clear that there will be several differences between both game modes. "Not to mention, playing through the story and getting to know the controls and mechanics of the game is the best way to get ready for playing inside the world of Red Dead Online". As with most online experiences of this size and scale, there will inevitably be some turbulence at launch, which the devs see as an opportunity to work with their dedicated community to "share ideas, help us fix teething problems and work with us to develop Red Dead Online into something really fun and innovative".

Of course, if you purchase Red Dead Redemption 2 you'll automatically have access to Red Dead Online, so don't worry about there being another package or transaction to make to gain access to the multiplayer content. Red Dead Redemption 2 is slated to release next month on PS4 and Xbox One on October 26.

'We look forward to working with our awesome and dedicated community to share ideas, help us fix teething problems and work with us to develop Red Dead Online into something really fun and innovative'. Perhaps Rockstar is trying to replicate this success with a similar take on Red Dead Redemption 2.
