Anurag Kashyap's Manmarziyan not cleared for release in Pakistan

With an average start at the box office, Abhishek Bachchan is being highly praised by the audience for his awesome performance in the movie. The film was scheduled to release in the country and worldwide on Sep 14.

Talking in a recent interview, CBFC Chief Danyal Gilani said, "The members of the board have unanimously chose to not clear the film as its content violates the censorship code". "The film's content is in Violation of censorship code". So, there is a good possibility that the movie might benefit from the wonders of word-of-mouth publicity. The movie starts with a Vicky (Kaushal) who jumping roof, one to another, to sneak into a bedroom, to a heavy sex with Rumi (Taapsee), they can't stay out of bed. Eventually, she gives up on him and agrees to an arranged marriage. Just then a banker named Robbie (Abhishek) enters as suitor for Rumi. What happens next, forms the crux of the story.

While the ban on Bollywood releases in Pakistan is now the trending topic, this is not the first time such an incident has occurred.

Manmarziyaan is the latest in a list of films, which has seen a ban from CBFC in the past few years, with Raees and Veere Di Wedding being major ones.
