Liverpool maintained their 100% start to the Premier League season with a 2-1 win over Tottenham at Wembley and will hope to make it six wins from six in all competitions when PSG visit Anfield on Tuesday.

"When I saw a few games at the World Cup and it looked like he made a bit more of the situation, it was for me a completely normal reaction", Klopp said of the 26-year-old.

Laurent Blanc was axed in 2016 having failed to get beyond the quarter-finals of the Champions League, and Unai Emery lost his job after just two seasons following consecutive last 16 exits.

"We don't try to act in these kind of things".

The manager was honest when he said that there is "no chance" Firmino could play if the game was today. We all saw the picture and we were massively anxious. It is good news it will be close.

PSG's Ligue 1 champion Adrien Rabiot should start against Liverpool in this week's Champions League opener at Anfield.

Klopp praised PSG's decision to appoint Thomas Tuchel as their head coach, describing his compatriot as "one of the best".

"With unbelievable individual quality you need a manager who can teach and educate them in playing together and they brought in one of the best I know".

"If Bobby can't play, Dom (Solanke) and Divock (Origi) can't, then we are short of options". "They have a generation of players and they have experience in these games, and over and over again, they know that in the end they win those games".

So, with Firmino having started every game this season then Klopp could be forced to shuffle his attacking pack and with Dominic Solanke and Divock Origi out injured then that only really leaves Daniel Sturridge as Firmino's replacement in the Liverpool squad, and his lack of match sharpness may mean Klopp tinkers with his formation rather than opting to play the England worldwide alongside Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane in the heralded attacking triumvirate.

Neymar is expected to return after he, along with Kylian Mbappé, sat out Friday's 4-0 victory over St-Étienne.
