In an interview on CNN, Merritt argued that Jean's door could not have been ajar, as fire doors in the apartment complex close automatically.

Many of Jean's colleagues from PricewaterhouseCoopers, a multinational professional services firm with an office in Dallas, where he worked as an accountant and was known by his nickname "Bo", also filled the church pews, including the company's USA chairman and senior partner, Tim Ryan.

A local news station in Dallas was hit with a wave of backlash Thursday after reporting that marijuana had been found in the apartment of a black man gunned down by a police officer in his own home. Thinking Jean was an intruder, she allegedly believed she was acting against an intruder in self-defense.

Jean was born in St. Lucia and moved to the USA where he became a naturalized citizen.

Harding has released a video of Jean's singing performances.

After fatally shooting Jean, Guyger called 911. "She claimed that she went into a place she thought was her apartment".

'They immediately began looking to smear him, ' Merritt said in a statement seen on the Associated Press.

Here a resident of the same building shows that is IMPOSSIBLE.

One witness says they heard a woman say, "Let me in!" He said Jean set the highest expectations for himself and worked diligently toward them, but always put God and his family first. "It doesn't read anything beyond negligence of that they simply do not specify how she is reckless which is the required mental state for manslaughter". They NEVER searched her home!' Merritt said the search warrant showed investigators were immediately looking for drug paraphernalia, CBS Dallas / Fort Worth reports.

According to the Dallas Morning News, Guyger has previously shot a man in the stomach after he reportedly reached for her taser.

"For Fox 4 to frame and play up this finding in the way that it did - implying that cannabis use might have justified his murder - is irresponsible reporting", Angell told HuffPost.

Although the search warrant affidavit for Jean's apartment was made public on Thursday, the same the day as Jean's funeral, one for Guyger's apartment wasn't. In the video, Guyger appears to be on the phone and crying before other officers arrive. Later, a man's body, believed to be Jean's, is taken out on a gurney. The Dallas Police Department should take action.

On Thursday, multiple news outlets reported the results of a search warrant executed on Jean's apartment. "Botham Shem Jean was a fine man". "An unknown male, inside the apartment, confronted the officer at the door". Jean was transported to Baylor Hospital, where he died.

Guyger was arrested on Sunday. Instead, the 30-year-old went to Jean's fourth-floor apartment directly above hers. A grand jury will ultimately decide whether Guyger's charges get bumped up. For Merrit, though, the case is surrounded with red flags.
