New Apple Watch To Detect Abnormal Heartbeats

Apple bills the iPhone XR as "the iPhone X experience in an LCD display". This looks like a direct replacement of the smaller iPhone 8.

The device is powered by A12 Bionic SoC which has a hexa-core CPU, quad-core GPU, and a neural engine, and will deliver 15% faster application processing than last year's A11 chip. As a point of comparison, the regular Xs costs £999 (the same price as last year's iPhone X) and the iPhone XR will start at £749. In its financial reports, Apple doesn't break down its phone sales per region, but it would be interesting to see how these prices will affect its sales outside of the U.S.

This idea of minor refinements, rather than huge leaps forward, also seemed evident in the iPhone XS" camera system, which Gareth notes highlights "how this is very much an "S' year for the iPhone range". There will also be 128GB and 256GB models.

Apple aficionados in the Middle East will not have long to wait before they get their hands on what the company are calling the "most attractive and advanced" iPhones.

So how's it work without a home button?

Like the Google Pixel phones, the XR can do software bokeh or portrait mode; using iOS 12, it can also fool with the extent of the bokeh after the fact, blurring or sharpening the background of the image. And the price? Well, let's just say that it's going to be the most expensive smartphone on the market. With the iPhone X now discontinued, there's no longer any mention of AirPower.

However, in order to keep a strong foothold in the premium segment and increase the accessibility, they have toned down the XS to shape it in the form of iPhone XR. Well, the pricing starts a lot lower than for the iPhone XS, but the differences between European and USA pricing are still very much there.

Yesterday's Apple keynote was surprising in that it only featured new iPhones and a refreshed Watch, and no accessories for these products. The larger display size allows the device to show more information. The edges are noticeably rounder, though it still retains the square look. There are also a few new features, such as a watch faces to help you take a deep breath, or the ability to manage your calorie intake. It's "Digital Crown" scroll wheel now has haptic feedback by default when navigating through menus, and its speakers now produce 50% more volume than the Watch 3. The processor in the new iPhones is more advanced than any rival product, capable of the kind of heavy lifting once consigned exclusively to supercomputers. The Watch Series 4 is still good for 18 hours of everyday use or workout tracking for a solid six hours.
