The upcoming launch event will be held at Apple Park headquarters.

It also says the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Plus will become available on September 21, followed by the iPhone XC a month later - starting at 7,388 yuan (US$1,076), 8,388 yuan (US$1,220) and 5888 yuan (US$857) respectively. All the premium iPhone devices are said to be called as iPhone XS.

Two of them - the smallest and biggest - will have OLED screens; OLED screens have been in smartphones for some years now, though Apple only made a decision to use it for the first time last year on the iPhone X.

So, the iPhone XS Max will be the most expensive iPhone, but will probably be a little less expensive than the Samsung Galaxy Note 9.

"Depending on the price point, the launch of the XC could also see Apple making serious moves in the mobile mid-tier as it hopes to regain ground from more competitively priced rivals". Previously, Apple used the "C" suffix to bring out the iPhone 5C as a low-priced model alongside the iPhone 5S.

The Cupertino-based technology company Apple has now started to send the invites to the media houses.

On Monday, Bloomberg reported that Apple will launch "a trio of new smartphone models" at its Gather Round event, headlined by an upgraded version of the iPhone X which will likely be dubbed the iPhone Xs.

"This major tranche of reboots will undoubtedly please Apple fans and win some new devotees, but it's hard not to see this multi-device launch making up for increasingly modest fanfare that has greeted new iterations of the iPhone in recent years".

As per the report, people familiar with the matter have said, "Apple has considered calling the phone the "iPhone XR".

The first is expected to be an updated iPhone X with similar specs to the existing device but some new and improved internal and software features - similar to the S models the company has released in the past.

Apple is expected to unveil new iPhones on Wednesday - and leaks from China are already giving us hints of what's to come. We may also see edge-to-edge displays, much like the design of the iPhone X. Business Insider details this here, showing that the iPhone 8 is highest in Brazil at $1,377 (Dh5,058).

Apple's annual unveiling of the latest iPhone is upon us once again.

Though far from a deal breaker, it's worth mentioning that Apple's 2018 iPhone models may not include a Lightning to 3.5mm headphone jack adapter in the box. Per reports, both devices will boast 4GB of RAM, a nice bump from the 3GB of RAM on last year's models. The iPhone X, meanwhile, has a Dh661.50 disparity between its own 64GB and 256GB offerings.

Another image reveals that the device will have a dual-SIM card slot.

Other hardware announcements that could potentially be made on Wednesday include a cheaper MacBook, new iPad Pro models with Face ID and no Home button, and the first new Mac mini in four years.
