Darke speaks of the "turbulent environment" that Sarri walked into when taking the Chelsea job, and how despite the clubs incredible turnover of managers under Roman Abramovich, the Italian seems unfazed by the prospect of returning Chelsea to the top of the English game.

Sarri replaced Antonio Conte in the summer after a long drawn out saga over whether he would remain at Stamford Bridge or not.

His free-flowing attacking style helping to appease the fans who have so far seen nothing less than a flawless start in the Premier League - taking four wins from four games prior to the worldwide break. I know I have two years of contract left but I hope to stay more years in the Premier League. The Blues beat Huddersfield Town, Arsenal, Newcastle United, and Bournemouth to take second position in the standings, behind Liverpool.

Maybe the most pleasing aspect of his short reign though is hanging on to star man Eden Hazard after constant speculation over a move to Real Madrid.

Indeed, the new boss was able to keep hold of all of his key players in the summer, apart from goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.

The Belgium global was though swiftly replaced by Kepa, who signed for a world-record £71.6m fee for a goalkeeper from Athletic Bilbao.

Injury problems allied to him falling out with Conte restricted Luiz to just ten league appearances last season but he looks set to be a central figure in the new regime.

As reported by the London Evening Standard, Willian said: 'A lot of people, they say a lot of things, but I never said that I wanted to leave Chelsea, never.

During that time, Willian has won two Premier League titles, the FA Cup and the League Cup.

"Going back to when I played, that's what we did. These five years have been very good for me and I am proud to be a Chelsea player".

While it could be argued that they are yet to be properly tested so far this season, they can only beat what is put in front of them.

Former Premier League manager Graeme Souness though isn't sure Sarri will succeed.
