The OG Sabrina, Melissa Joan Hart, recently came out to say she had "no feelings" about the new series, but did admit she was glad bosses were taking a darker approach and "not just duplicating" it. It's a far cry from the relatively squeaky-clean 90s series Sabrina, The Teenage Witch, but that's not exactly surprising considering the pedigree of the creative folks behind the scenes. The rest of the cast is fleshed out by Miranda Otto, Lucy Davis, Ross Lynch, Michelle Gomez, Chance Perdomo, Jaz Sinclair and more.

The first spooky, bewitching, and sexed-up teaser trailer for Netflix's The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is here to put you under its spell.

Set to the strains of a haunting "Happy Birthday", there is no dialogue and the focus is on our main character, with an appearance by Salem the cat at the end of the clip. In the series, Sabrina attempts to reconcile her dual nature - she's half-witch, half-mortal - while standing against evil forces that threaten her, her family and the world inhabited by humans. Riverdale showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, who also serves as chief creative officer of Archie Comics, penned the script for the series. Sabrina was initially being eyed for a slot on the CW alongside Riverdale before being picked up by Netflix.

On Wednesday, a new poster was released for the show that sees Shipka sitting in front of a birthday cake decorated with red candles, an ominously horned creature crouching behind her.
