Apparently, Cardi approached Nicki's table to chit chat with her about "the lies she was spreading", but as soon as she got too close, security elbowed her in the head and all hell broke loose.

One of the entertainment world's worst habits is pitting women against each other, and rappers Cardi B and Nicki Minaj have not been immune to the public portraying them as bitter rivals. Things turned physical as Cardi lunged at Minaj and both rappers' security teams rushed in to break up with fight. There's a brief video of the drama below.

At some point during the evening, Cardi B and Nicki Minaj crossed paths.

Cardi then put up a lengthy Instagram post, which she simply captioned "PERIOD". She also had no shoes on and the back of her red Dolce & Gabbana dress was ripped.

Cardi B, who recently became a new mother - she gave birth to her first child, a baby girl, with fellow rapper Offset in July - uploaded an expletive-laden note on Instagram, believed to be about the fight, on Saturday.

"You've threaten other artists in the industry", Cardi B wrote, suggesting that Minaj discouraged artists from working with her. Nicki reportedly was unfazed by Cardi's attempts.

She went on to state that she has actually spoken in person with Nicki before about their beef and 'every time you copped the plea!'

"I've worked to [sic] hard and come too far to let anybody f- with my success!" she concluded her scathing note. B**tches talk all that s**t in they raps but in real like they p***y!

Meanwhile, Nicki shared a clip shortly after the altercation to show she hadn't suffered any injuries.

After the brawl, Cardi B was reportedly escorted to a room, from where she later made an exit barefoot. "She never f**king liked me and now, all of a sudden, she wants to be friends with me". If you ain't f*ckin my man, or if you ain't takin my money from me, you ain't stoppin my money, then I don't really give a f*ck about you.
