Real Madrid now know their possible rivals for their defence of the Club World Cup, which will take place in December in the United Arab Emirates.

Real Madrid will face either CD Guadalajara or the victor of the AFC Champions League in the semi-finals of the 2018 Club World Cup.

Real Madrid will face either Mexican side Chivas or the eventual Asian champions in the semi-finals of this year's FIFA Club World Cup.

The Asian Champions League is now at the last eight stage, with Xavi Hernandez's Al-Sadd still in with a chance of winning it. Al Sadd, who have Spanish footballers Xavi Hernandez and Gabi in their squad, are still in contention along with beaten finalists two years ago Kashima Antlers.

The Asian Champions League winners will be decided on Nov. 10, CONMEBOL winners will be decided on Nov. 28 and Africa's representative will be known on Nov. 11.

The winner of that tie will take on the CAF Champions League winners - with the African tournament now at the quarter-final stage ahead of the final in November - with a semi-final against the Copa Libertadores winners the prize for the victors.
