Samsung has got its AR Emoji, and Apple has Memoji but now, there's a more universal way of making an emoji out of yourself, and that is by using the new feature on Google's Gboard.

About the facial hair - apparently I was a bit scruffy in the selfie I uploaded by way of trying this out, which you can see in some of the resulting "Mini" me stickers.

Minis are pretty much the same as the personalised sticker feature that Google launched in Allo previous year.

Google today released a new feature called "Mini" stickers for Gboard app on iOS and Android. Users can creates Minis of themselves in different moods and reactions, for them to share and play around with in conversations.

At the moment, there are about 100 sticker styles in two different "Minis" packs, which include the glittery-eyed "Sweet" and its slightly angrier counterpart, "Bold".

Update your Gboard app on iOS and Android to enjoy this new feature. The sticker can then be customized by changing the pose or expression and will be stored alongside your other stickers.

Mini Stickers are quite easy to create - all you have to do is take a selfie, and Gboard will automatically use the selfie to make stickers. Just access Mini from within Gboard and start the creation process by taking a selfie.
