Two people die in Bundoran road crash

The fatal road traffic collision occurred at Eastend, Bundoran, Co.

Their bodies have been removed to Sligo General Hospital.

The one-vehicle collision happened when the auto hit a wall in Eastend in Bundoran just before 3.30am on Sunday.

The pair, both aged in their 20s, died after the auto in which they were travelling crashed into a wall in the Eastend area of Bundoran at around 3.25am on Sunday.

Shiva Devine, a mother in her twenties from Donegal Town and living in Belleek also died in the crash.

Garda crash investigators are at scene and the road at East End, Finner, is now closed with local diversions in place. Cards and flowers have been placed at the scene paying tribute to the deceased.

Parish Priest, Canon Ramon Munster said those who died would be remembered in prayers and prayers for the recovery of those injured would also be offered by congregations at local masses.

A man in his 20s has been arrested after presenting himself to gardaí in relation to the fatal crash.

Two other people were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Local man Frankie O'Gorman said there is a history of serious crashes in the area and that driving conditions were hard at the time of the crash due to heavy rainfall.

The crash happened close to a risky bend in a built-up part of the Eastend area of the town.

Gardaí have appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
