PUBG Mobile has just hit a huge milestone

Tencent and PUBG Corp announced today PUBG Mobile has been downloaded over 100 million times since its release four months ago.

When we talk about battle royale games on mobile, Fortnite by Epic Games and PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) by Tencent are two names that immediately strike a chord. It is a military-style shooter game that has a number of rivals such as Fortnite.

However the PUBG Mobile monetisation system still needs some work.

"We want to thank our committed development team at Lightspeed and Quantum Studios and especially thank the devoted players around the world that continue to inspire us with their passion and dedication", said Vincent Wang, PUBG Mobile general manager. It was the most-downloaded mobile game in more than 100 countries during its first week of availability, becoming one of the fastest games to reach this achievement to date. However, a report from SensorTower says the game was pulling in around $650,000 per day thanks in part to the launch of the new Royale Pass.

PUBG is now hosting a crossover event with the recent blockbuster Mission: Impossible - Fallout, and has been updated with new maps and game modes for the same. Fortnite has been available on iOS for a while now, with beta invites for the Android version being sent out. It is yet to be available for Android smartphones but there's a catch. The game is developed by Tencent Games and PUBG Corp.

Analytics firm Sensor Tower has noted that the game's first season is about to come to a close, and with the second one about to begin the firm does expect another jump in revenue for PUBG Mobile, which has already generated $50 million across the App Store and Google Play.
