According to TMZ, the 25-year-old was at a party in West Hollywood following her friend's birthday celebration at Saddle Ranch earlier in the night, and per their sources, told her dealer to come to her house.

It seems that the dealer stopped by with two freebased Oxycodone on tin foil. The report also says that he fled the house after he saw her overdosing and that someone on Lovato's staff found her unresponsive the next morning.

Lovato was not aware, however, that the dealer bought dirty drugs from Mexico and the batch he had was laced with fentanyl, the same drug that killed Prince.

The 25-year-old singer is now in rehab following a suspected overdose three weeks ago but, although details on the incident are being tightly guarded, it's been claimed that she had inhaled a painkiller combined with the depressant drug - the same medication that killed Prince - and that led to her falling unconscious. She was given Narcan, a medication used to reverse the effects of a narcotic overdose.

Lovato was hospitalized for almost two weeks following an overdose. E! News reports that Lovato has checked into addiction rehab, where she'll be staying for the next few months.

It was originally reported that Demi allegedly overdosed on heroin, however, the report was retracted. "It is something I must continue to overcome and have not done yet", Lovato wrote. 'And I now need time to heal and focus on my sobriety and road to recovery'.

The insider went on to say that the former Disney star is "doing much better", both mentally and physically, and has "become more open and is happy she is getting the help she needs".

'The family is trying to make sure they eliminate all distractions and want her to be focusing on her health right now'.
