Curry told reporters he spoke to Scott on Friday: "It was a good conversation this morning that I had with him, just to let him know how, obviously everybody out here on the Tour, and everybody I've talked to that knows him, says so many great things about him and his family, and are thinking about him during the tough time right now".

"I couldn't hit a driver to save my life today, so that's how golf goes", said Curry, who was making his second appearance in the event at TPC Stonebrae.

Playing as an amateur, Curry bogeyed the par-3 second, made a quadruple-bogey 9 on the par-5 third after hitting consecutive drives out of bounds, bogeyed the par-4 fifth, made a triple on the par-4 seventh and a double on the par-4 eighth.

He made par and parred the next two before stumbling with bogeys on Nos. This time it took me to hole eight or nine to get comfortable. So, I had to wait a little bit.

"Yeah, there's one of those off the face, hit it flush and it was on line". "I see it hit - or I hear the pin rattle and that was a cool moment". When I walked up there, literally was an inch away from dunking it.

He three-putted for par on the par-5 ninth.

Trainer and Champ posted rounds of 69 and 68, respectively.

Curry did provide some excellent highlights while he was on the course. It really surprised me. "We are so appreciative of the entire Tour staff, all of the players from both the Tour and PGA TOUR, and the countless number of people who have heard our story who have helped us through this hard time". "He got off to a bad start and he came all the way back and ended up having a pretty good round". Some comments reference being influenced to donate because of Curry.

"It was definitely a good experience, obviously all the fans shouting his name and whatnot". It was good just to see his game, too. "I was very impressed", said Champ, who leads the Tour in driving distance. But as I come out here and play with these professionals, it's about raising their notoriety in terms of the game of golf. I knew sort of what I had to shoot (to make the cut).

Stephen Curry may be one of the best basketball players on earth and a cold-blooded assassin on the court, but he still gets nervous just like all of us.
