Angelina Jolie Has Sudden Money Issues in Brad Pitt Divorce

Piers Morgan called her intent to file for a retroactive child support order a "savage and public attack" on her Hollywood A-lister ex.

In those documents, filed Wednesday in Los Angeles Superior Court, Pitt's attorneys reject her claim, stating that the actor has loaned Jolie US$8 million for her current Los Angeles residence and has paid over US$1.3 million in bills for her and their six children.

Brad Pitt loaned Angelina Jolie $8 million to buy a home for her and their six children.

The comments from Jolie's attorney came after Brad hit back following her court filing which alleged he wasn't paying "meaningful" child support for their children - Maddox, 16, Pax, 14, Zahara, 13, Shiloh, 12, and nine-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox.

The 54-year-old also claimed that his ex was simply pulling the child support card in an "effort to manipulate the media".

"Following the incident of September 2016, Angelina and the children needed to move from the family home, which Brad chose to keep, including all of its contents", DeJean says. Now, it's worth noting that we're not talking about physically abusive behavior.

"If Angelina Jolie really thinks Brad Pitt is a useless deadbeat dad, then what better way to prove it than to tell him to stuff his money where the sun don't shine and provide for her kids herself?" he asked.

And while the lawyer said Jolie will "honour that loan, a loan is not, however, child support and to represent it as such is misleading and inaccurate".

Jolie Pitt's filing requested a case management hearing, which would take place privately in front of a judge, to discuss the issues of child support and finalising the divorce soon.

"Angelina has had to shoulder the majority of those without his contribution for the past two years/ Child support is not optional in California". She gave this as reasoning for why Jolie filed new papers on Monday to request Pitt "pay 50 percent of the children's expenses", which he has so far failed to do.

In response to Brad's rebuttal, Angelina's lawyer Samantha Bley DeJean expressed her hopes the dispute could be resolved "without further delay of posturing".

Pitt's response said that a status conference that is already scheduled would serve the same objective.
