God of War New Game+ Arrives in August 2018

Sony revealed today that New Game+ will finally be making its way into God of War on August 20.

To access New Game+, you will have to complete the story campaign of God of War on any difficulty. The mode comes with a new resource, "Skap Slag" - which Google Translate tells me means "Cabinet Battle" in Norwegian, that can be used to craft gear and weapons from a new rarity tier.

The New Game+ mode was originally announced during Sony's E3 presentation, a side note among the larger showcases for games like Spider-Man and The Last of Us Part II.

The much-requested feature can only be unlocked after completing the epic daddy simulator, after which it'll be waiting for you once the game has updated.

Four months after launch, God of War will add a New Game+ option "inspired by [fan] feedback first and foremost". Kratos and Atreus' abilities, enchantments, pieces of equipment, resources, and talismans from your previous run will remain with you. The update also allows players to skip cutscenes once they've played through the game.

With New Game+ comes new gear, more hard enemies, cinematic skipping, and more.

Test your skills against higher level enemies; some of which might even have a few new tricks up their sleeves.

The studio also promises new customization options, armor sets, and enchantments, so it certainly sounds like New Game Plus will offer quite a bit to players who have already made it through God of War's story.

God of War is now available on PS4.
