To kick off the weekend's festivities at QuakeCon 2018, Bethesda and id Software made good on their promise back at E3 and revealed the first gameplay footage of the upcoming sequel DOOM Eternal.

We'll cover more details about what's coming, but this is a big, big change, and it reflects a new approach to the game: "We're not just making a Doom game anymore", id's Marty Stratton said. At the very least, though, we feel that this has to be some kind of expansion or some piece of previously unseen content related to Doom. You can even team up with other players to form a Doom Slayer hunting party. Developed by id Software, Doom Eternal brings the ultimate combination of speed and power with the next leap in push-forward, first-person combat. Set to an all-new pulse pounding soundtrack composed by Mick Gordon, players will fight across dimensions as they slay new and classic demons with powerful new weapons and abilities.

We'll have more information on the game as news comes to light on the way to the game's 2019 release.
