The Carolina Panthers are kicking off their preseason with a visit to the Buffalo Bills, a game that reunited Benjamin, the former Panthers receiver now playing in Buffalo, with his old quarterback in Newton.

Kelvin Benjamin and Cam Newton met up publicly and talked ahead of the Bills and Panthers preseason game Thursday.

As players were going through warmups, Newton approached Benjamin to shake his hand.

The Carolina Panthers have spent roughly the past three weeks in training camp preparing for the upcoming season.

"I just think Carolina was bad for me", Benjamin told The Athletic. "If you would've put me with any other quarterback, let's be real, you know what I'm saying?" "It was a bad fit from the get-go". While Newton seemed initially friendly during the meeting, neither man was smiling as Benjamin started to walk away from him. "It just felt like I wasn't in that position". He responded on social media in his Instagram story.

It's apparent that Benjamin harbors much more frustration from the situation than Newton.

In an interview with The Athletic's Tim Graham last week, Benjamin was asked how his career has gone since his rookie season and the receiver said he wishes he'd been drafted by another team and wished for another quarterback.
