The Colombian worldwide completed a £28.5million switch from Barcelona on Thursday, having been the subject of heavy interest from Manchester United and Lyon.

While Bernard was finalising his transfer at Everton's Finch Farm training ground a club delegation led by the director of football, Marcel Brands, concluded deals for Mina and Gomes in Barcelona.

"It is important that the club want to fight for something". A loan move for Chelsea's Kurt Zouma was also being worked on after a deal sheet was submitted to the Premier League for the defender.

Gomes and Mina could be registered in time to face Wolves in the Premier League opener this Saturday, but that game may come too soon for them as they look to bed in at Everton. This is a great opportunity for me and I am looking forward to competing here. "I believe I will be able to show my best as a player here".

"Barcelona would like to publicly express their thanks to Yerry Mina for his commitment and dedication and wishes him all the best for the future".

Everton and Barcelona have reached an agreement over a transfer fee for Colombian defender Mina and Gomes is also being sent to Goodison Park, but on loan.

Brighton and Hove Albion secured defensive reinforcement in the shape of former Barcelona right-back Martin Montoya, who joins from Valencia on a four-year deal. He has made just six appearances during his time in Spain.

The 25-year-old began his career at Benfica, with his career highlight being a European Championship win with Portugal in 2016.
