The League has played games in England and Japan and Brazil.

The NBA and the Orlando Magic announced on Tuesday that the Magic will host a pair of home games in Mexico City this season, squaring off against the Chicago Bulls and Utah Jazz on December 13 and December 15 respectively.

Aaron Gordon, Mohamed Bamba and the Magic will face Zach LaVine, Lauri Markkanen and the Bulls on December 13, followed by a game against Donovan Mitchell, Rudy Gobert and the Jazz on December 15, the league said.

"From our previous experience of playing in Mexico City, we know the passion of the fans and look forward to this fantastic opportunity".

So, although this trip will mark the franchise's first regular-season game at this particular site, it certainly isn't uncharted territory for the organization.

The Jazz have played four times in Mexico, but the last visit was in 2003 when Utah beat the Dallas Mavericks 90-85. "From our previous experience of playing in Mexico City, we know the passion of the fans and look forward to this incredible opportunity". The game will be broadcast live by ESPN.

The Magic and the National Basketball Association should release the rest of the schedule in the coming weeks.

Chicago Bulls President and COO Michael Reinsdorf released a statement about today's news.

The Magic will sacrifice two homes games off their schedule to play the games in Mexico City, just like the team sacrificed a home game for the London game a few years ago. Now the Bulls will get their chance to experience the city as a host for one of their games. The NBA has established a major worldwide presence with games and programming in 215 countries and territories in 50 languages, and merchandise for sale in more than 125,000 stores in 100 countries on six continents. The NBA has created one of the largest social media communities in the world, with 1.5 billion likes and followers globally across all league, team, and player platforms.
