While an official announcement from Ford has not been made yet and is due tomorrow, the 10 millionth auto has already been produced and is of course, a V8.

During its 54-year production run the Mustang has been built in San Jose, California, Metuchen, New Jersey, and Dearborn, Michigan.

The 10 millionth Ford Mustang rolled off the line at the automaker's Flat Rock Assembly Plant in MI on Wednesday, further cementing the model's place as the best-selling sports vehicle of all time. There's good reason for the specifications, too.

The 2019 GT convertible is painted Wimbledon White, just like the one Ford recognizes as the first production Mustang. Having been immortalised in pop culture with movies like Bullit, Gone In Sixty Seconds or more recently, Need For Speed or songs like "Mustang Sally", the pony auto - turned muscle vehicle is something everyone loves. The first serialized Mustang off the line also carried a V8, but its transmission had half the forward speeds and just 164 horsepower.

The automaker marked the occasion with a gathering of some 60 Mustang owners, who parked their new and classic pony cars to spell out '10,000,000.' A trio of P-51 Mustang fighter aircraft were prepared for a fly-by over the site as well. Ford said it also plans for other celebrations at its Dearborn, Michigan, headquarters with employees.

'Mustang is the heart and soul of this company and a favorite around the world, ' said Jim Farley, president of global markets, Ford Motor Company.

The latest Ford Mustang offers an extensive array of technology and performance, the pinnacles of modern engineering showcased with Ford's 2019 Mustang Bullitt.

The Ford Mustang is by far the most iconic muscle auto known to mankind.
