The ECP will issue the list of elected members today after they submit the details of expenditures. Under the Constitution, the first session should be called within 21 days of elections. The Imran-led PTI has emerged as the single largest party with 116 seats in the National Assembly in the July 25 polls.

Federal Law Minister Ali Zafar said last week that the caretaker wants to complete the transfer of power by August 15.

Mehru joined the party following a meeting with Khan, who was today officially nominated the PTI's prime minister candidate.

Besides these three major parties, Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal Pakistan won 13 seats, Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan six seats, Pakistan Muslim League and Balochistan Awami Party four seats each, Balochistan National Party and Grand Democratic Alliance two seats each, Awami Muslim League Pakistan, Awami National Party, Jamhoori Wattan Party and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaniat one seat each.

Sources said that PTI chief Imran Khan has picked Imran Ismail for the coveted post of the governor which fell vacant following resignation of PML-N leader Muhammad Zubair Umar. The PTI is also expected to get a ministry in the Balochistan cabinet. A party can only form the government if it manages to clinch 172 seats in total. Tough competition is expected between Khan and Sharif.

Officials had also chose to meet cricketer-turned-politician and inform him about the threat level. Allies and reserved seats will take the PTI tally to 174 seats in NA.
