A date has been set for the official launch of Stardew Valley's multiplayer mode on PCs. After a period of beta testing, it's almost ready to roll out on PC, Mac, and Linux. While it probably isn't going to look a lot different from the beta that's now available, this is exciting news for more reasons than one.

Calling all farmhands! You'll soon be able to tend to your crops and livestock, and engage in the holy act of matrimony, with your friends in the Stardew Valley multiplayer update.

Multiplayer in Stardew Valley pretty much does what it says on the tin. A significant portion of the player base has likely already seen what it has to offer, as a publicly accessible beta has been available since the end of April.

Stardew Valley's multiplayer update drops for PC, Mac and Linux on 1st August, and will be arriving on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch soon after. So, basically everything you can do in Stardew Valley, then. The fact that the update has been finalised for PC is great news, though, and should hopefully mean that the Switch version is one step closer to a full release, too. It's now unknown if the console versions will have a similar feature. Whenever we hear more about this update coming to consoles, we'll let you know.
