The Blast reports that an unnamed woman filed a police report about the alleged assault earlier this year, and the Los Angeles Police Department is now investigating the claim.

Citing unnamed sources familiar with the situation, the website reported that the woman filed a complaint with the LAPD's Hollywood Division, claiming Anderson assaulted her more than a year ago.

"It's unfortunate that anyone can file a police report, whether it is true or false", said a representative for Anderson. "It's unfortunate that anyone can file a police report whether it is true or false", they said. "Anthony unequivocally disputes the claim". The second meeting is when she says he assaulted her, though the specific details of what she says happened are unclear. The assault allegedly took place when the woman met with Anderson to talk business.

The 47-year-old actor is reportedly "listed as a suspect in a criminal report" in an ongoing investigation but officers did not provide any further information.

Sources told The Blast that the woman partly felt comfortable coming forward to police because of the #MeToo movement.

The actor just received his fourth straight Emmy nomination for his role as patriarch Andre Johnson in Kenya Barris' ABC family sitcom "Black-ish".

Anthony Anderson arrives at the 2016 Primetime Emmy Awards Performer Nominees Reception at the Pacific Design Center, on September 16, 2016, in West Hollywood, California.

The incident isn't the first time Anderson has been accused of misconduct.

In 2004, rape charges against Anderson were dropped when a judge found that there was no probable cause to try the case and dismissed it.
