Last season he was awarded the Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the Year award at Old Trafford, recognising the impact he made after coming back from surgery a knee injury.

Manchester United star Alexis Sanchez has flown out to America to join up with Jose Mourinho's squad for the remainder of their summer tour.

"Technically he is very good, tactically he understands the game and he understands his position but by the physical point of view, when the game gets into contact situations he is in trouble, he is fragile, he is still a kid".

Rebic has emerged as an option having starred in Croatia's shock run to the World Cup final, where they were beaten 2-1 by France. But Mourinho has been clear that he only wants players who want to be there and he will have work to do with Martial in particular. Along with newly signed veteran goalkeeper Lee Grant, promising youngsters Mason Greenwood and Tahith Chong their both featured in the game, the latter particularly impressing those United fans who bothered staying up to watch. Mourinho and his coaching staff kept in touch with all three, but the tour of the United States will be a chance to see for himself if they have progressed while on loan.

United tweeted a picture of Sanchez from their official account.

Sources have told ESPN FC that the 29-year-old is expected in the United States after the club solved his visa issue.

After Mourinho swapped Tahith Chong and Matteo Darmian for Martial and Mitchell, Shaw went close with a right-foot effort that passed the wrong side of Marchesin's left post.

Manchester United play the San Jose Earthquakes on July 22 before starting International Champions Cup play against AC Milan on July 25. Only 37,766 turned up to the 63,000-capacity venue for the game, the first of five matches that United are playing.
