Liz Cambage dominated in the Dallas Wings' victory over the New York Liberty on Tuesday, and she set a WNBA record in the process.

Cambage's 53-point output ties Dirk Nowitzki's Mavericks single-game record, set December 2, 2004, against the Rockets.

"It's pretty big", she said. "I've had a lot of people say I can't have big numbers here in the WNBA", she said after the game.

"I just was feeling it, I guess", Cambage said in a television interview following the game, a wide smile on her face. Playing just 37 minutes, Cambage scored a WNBA record 53 points, pulled down 10 rebounds and blocked five shots.

The towering centre dropped 53 points to finish the game with the highest points tally in a single WNBA match, shooting 17-from-22 from the floor and 15-from-16 from the free throw line, while adding 10 boards and five blocks.

However, in order to make a deal possible the FFA would have to top up any salary offered to Bolt from its $3 million fund to attract "marquee" players. Cambage becomes just the second player in WNBA history to score over 50 points in a game. Her 53 points is two more points by unheralded Riquna Williams who scored 51 points in 2013, and five more points than the 48 points scored by WNBA great Maya Moore. The United Kingdom product is averaging 21.4 points and 9.2 rebounds per game during her third season in the league.

Cambage was recently selected for the WNBA All-Star game, her second call up after a five-year absence from the United States league, adding to her 2011 breakout season selection. The UConn product is posting a league-best 22.5 points per bout this season.

Cambage only trails Seattle Storm forward Breanna Stewart in points per game.

Dallas coach Fred Williams was ejected from the game with 1:44 remaining in the third quarter.

Cambage played for teams in Beijing and Shanghai from 2013-2016 and last season for the Melbourne Boomers before signing with the Wings last February. I think I had three threes tonight.
