Norwich are set to miss out on loan target Danny Ward, with the Liverpool goalkeeper set to join Leicester City in a £10 million deal.

It was reported today that the Foxes had agreed a deal with the Reds to bring former Aberdeen keeper Ward to the King Power Stadium.

Ward is reportedly joining the Foxes as back-up to Denmark global Kasper Schmeichel - although their own title-winning stopper has been linked with Chelsea and Roma, following his efforts in the Premier League and this summer's World Cup in Russian Federation.

However, the Blues will face competition for the Danish star's signature from AS Roma, who are themselves looking for a replacement after agreeing to sell Alisson to Liverpool.

Leicester city looks to have identified Liverpool's rapidly moving situation at goal and as a result, has made a shocking swoop for Reds backup keeper.

Ward was a key part of the Huddersfield side that earned promotion to the Premier League last summer.

Ward is expected to undergo a medical and speak with Leicester about personal terms in the next few days.

Liverpool's previous number 1 Simon Mignoletvis nearly certain to press for a move away from Anfield on his return from World Cup duty and Ward's expected departure from the Merseyside would leave Loris Karius as the number two to the incoming Alisson Becker.

Wales worldwide Ward is expected to become one of the top keepers in the country but his progress has been blocked by Liverpool's purchase of Alisson Becker for a world record £67.5million. Move to Leicester would help him to reignite his career and overall it would be a very win-win sort of move for both the club and player.
