The ball seamed in from good length and struck the back leg of Mishara and the umpire had no hesitation in raising his finger to give India their first wicket of the morning session. So it was no surprise that Vinod Kambli got emotional after Arjun Tendulkar took his first wicket in age group cricket for India.

Arjun, son of cricket great, Sachin Tendulkar dismissed Sri Lanka's Kamil Mishara after being hit for two boundaries.

He claimed his maiden worldwide wicket during the first Youth Test match against Sri Lanka U-19 team at the Nondescripts Cricket Club ground, Colombo.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka U19 were bowled out for 244 in their first innings.

Arjun Tendulkar, who opened the bowling, sent down a tidy opening spell of 5-1-18-1 before sending down another six overs, returning figures of 11-2-33-1. For Sri Lanka, it was captain Nipun Dananjaya and wicket-keeper batsman Nishan Madushka who resisted well and stitched a partnership of 53 runs for the second wicket.

After watching Arjun taking his maiden scalp in global cricket, former India cricketer and Sachin Tendulkar's childhood friend Vinod Kambli took to Twitter and posted an emotional message.

India U-19 will play two 4-day youth Tests, which will be followed by five youth one-dayers. Could not be more happy for you, Arjun. "Cherish your first wicket and enjoy the moment", Kambli's tweet read. The second Youth Test will begin from July 24 in Hambantota while the ODIs begin from July 30 in Colombo and will be played till August 10.
