Brazilian global Alisson is expected to sign for Liverpool on a five-year deal worth €75 million, a world record for a goalkeeper, media reports suggested on Wednesday (Jul 18). "He's a great guy, was a strong part of the locker room dynamic and we're sorry to see him go, but life is like that".

Roma only made the Brazilian a starter in their side last season, having left him to sit on the bench behind Wojciech Szczesny in his first season in Europe following a €7.5m move from Internacional.

The 25-year-old Alisson is set to become the most expensive goalkeeper in history, his fee eclipsing the $62 million Juventus paid to Parma in 2001 for Gianluigi Buffon and the $46 million Ederson cost Manchester City from Benfica last summer.

It is believed that Hazard could call for a deal similar to that of Neymar's a year ago when the Brazilian signed with Paris Saint-Germain from Barcelona, one that came out to approximately $263 million.

Despite this, Liverpool could only finish fourth as their inconsistent league form saw them fail to mount a title challenge. "We've only sold two players and we've signed 10, and we're going to continue looking for players to make us an even bigger club".

We have everything we need for the next season, because I don't think we will do anything more [in the market].

"[The owners] were quite excited, so we did it", the Reds boss told his club's official website. He has meanwhile a lot of experience in the last few years, in Europe and in Rome, he's played there on an outstandingly high level and he did the same at the World Cup.

"How we all do, he needs to adapt to the English Premier League, that's how it is".
