Rodriguez has a lengthy criminal history, according to court records obtained by Breitbart Texas from the office of Harris County District Clerk Chris Daniel.

Police identified the person of interest as Rodriguez, 46.

They pursued him after he was seen driving a vehicle they had previously identified.

Monday afternoon Houston police found yet another gruesome scene. The third slaying was at another mattress store in the area on Sunday.

"We have serious concerns that this individual will strike again", Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said.

Police said it's possible the suspect's crime spree started with a home invasion in the 1200 block of Foxburo Drive in northwest Harris County on July 9.

"He's about 46 years of age, he's a male Hispanic, 5'7", 135 pounds, with black hair. "Actually he's pretty much bald but his natural hair color is black and he's got as you can see tattoos around his neck", says Chief Acevedo.

Investigators said they believe Rodriguez was casing the area where his parents live for his next victim because a gun was found in the Nissan he was driving. The sheriff said Rodriguez was caught after a tip from a resident who spotted him in the Nissan Sentra matching the description broadcast by police.

Authorities said to scout possible victims and neighborhoods, Rodriguez knocked on doors pretending to be looking for someone.

Police say it's been a week filled with murder and mayhem all at the hands of Jose Gilberto Rodriguez.

Police in the U.S. state of Texas on Tuesday captured a man they described as a serial killer who took the lives of at least three people in seven days.

Authorities on Monday identified Rodriguez as a suspect in the violent crime spree.

All three murder victims were killed by gunfire, Acevedo said. The sheriff's office said in a statement that Pamela Johnson, 62, was found dead inside her home in a northwest section of the county on Friday night after relatives were unable to reach her.

Surveillance video released Monday night shows Rodriguez walking through the Willowbrook Mall on Saturday, after parking the victim's vehicle. When investigators reviewed surveillance video from the mall, they observed the suspect, later identified as Rodriguez, park the auto and leave the scene.

Gonzalez has said there were "strong indications in each crime" that Rodriguez was involved but declined to elaborate.

A second woman, Allie Barrow, 28, was found shot to death roughly a half-mile away, in the back of a mattress shop, NBC affiliate KPRC reported.

"This guys motive appears to be robbery in a lot of cases", Acevedo says.

HPD said a METROLift driver was shot around 3:30 a.m. Monday at a gas station in the 2900 block of Quitman near the Eastex Freeway. Police said he cut off his ankle monitor a few days before the first shooting.

During the search, Gonzalez tweeted that the perpetrator behind the crimes is "considered a serial killer, armed & unsafe".
