Alexis Sanchez did not fly out with his Manchester United team-mates for their United States tour because of a "personal administrative issue", the English Premier League giants announced Monday.

According to a Metro report, the 23-year-old finished top of the bunch when the United squad was put through its paces during a training session in Los Angeles on Tuesday.

Alexis Sanchez has missed the start of Manchester United's United States tour as he has been unable to get a visa.

The attacking pair starred for Croatia in their historic World Cup run that saw them finish as runners-up to France on Sunday.

Spurs seem to be on the cusp of achieving something very special under Pochettino, and the addition of someone with the 29-year-old winger's quality could be just what they need to make the jump up to that elusive next level.

On the other hand, new arrivals Diogo Dalot and Lee Grant are in the squad in America, while Brazil's Fred is having some time off after sitting on the bench for the South Americans in Russian Federation.

"In all seriousness he's been great, he told me what a fantastic football club it is and he was certain I was going to enjoy my time here", Grant submitted.

Sources said Sanchez is hopeful of clearing up the issue in the coming days and should be free to join Jose Mourinho and the rest of the squad in Los Angeles this week.

The Chilean striker, 29, accepted a 16-month suspended jail sentence in February for tax fraud in Spain.
