Chelsea and Liverpool may find out more about the possibility of signing Roma goalkeeper Alisson this week, with the Brazilian's agent set to meet with his club to discuss his future.

The £62m bid is slightly short of Roma's £66.6m valuation but both sides are hopeful that an agreement can be reached.

But according to The Times, the 25-year-old has given an indication that he would prefer to join Liverpool instead of Chelsea.

Alisson played five times for Brazil at the World Cup in Russian Federation where his side suffered a quarter-final defeat to Belgium.

Alisson Becker now knows just how serious Liverpool are about bringing him to Anfield this summer.

Chelsea, however, have also been perennially linked with a move for Alisson, who could be regarded as a contingency plan if Thibaut Courtois does indeed complete a summer switch to Real Madrid.

The 25 year old has made over 60 appearances for Roma since joining in 2016, as well as 31 caps for Brazil.

"Klopp has got so much right this season and during his tenure as Liverpool manager, but he has not solved the goalkeeping problem and he has to make sure that issue is resolved this summer".

The Brazilian has drawn interest from Premier League clubs Liverpool and Chelsea along with La Liga giants Real Madrid and could favour a move away from Roma.

The German was at fault for two goals as Klopp's side were beaten 3-1 in Kiev.
